Ferrari 250 GTO was sold at auction for $ 52 million
It’s just amazing how much the price of classic cars has risen in recent years. The famous Ferrari 250 GTO was already a record holder for the cost, for which it was possible to sell it at auctions. And here again, this extremely rare car was able to regain the acquired title not so long ago. This time Ferrari 250 GTO was sold for a fairly decent amount of $ 52 million.
The name of the buyer is not called, but, as you know, they became a collector. And this car was bought from the same collector named Paul Pappalard, who lives in the American state Connecticut. Information was received about the conclusion of a historical transaction, as it became known a little later from the auto -dodes who participated in this process and, apparently, as a result of which they received decent commission.
Currently, this car is the most expensive all over the world that has been purchased openly. It is worth noting that in 1962 – 1966, the new car of this model cost approximately 18,500 US dollars. Plus, Enzo Ferrari himself should have personally approved the candidacy of the buyer. In total, Ferrari produced 39 copies of 250 GTO, most of them found their place in the collections of rocks, drug lords and influential politicians.
This Ferrari 250 GTO was released in 1963, chassis No. 5111. It was this car that became the winner in the Tour de France race, which also took place in 1963. At this time, a racer from France Jean Guichet was behind the wheel of a sports car.
Crazy prices for sports cars, according to market analysts, cannot be explained by any arguments, you can only use the term “marketing bubble”. But as many believe that when it comes to the possibility of acquiring such a car, absolutely no number of zeros in the check will seem large ..
