Audi began testing the next generation of the Q7 SUV. Our spies managed to take several photos of a mule, which was tested in extreme weather conditions.
Mul received a body from the current generation Q7 V12 TDI. We identified this by huge air intakes on the front panel. It seems that the front overhang in this model is a little shorter, and the wings are a little wider. At the rear, we also see the exhaust pipes that are located on both sides of the diffuser.
When Audi takes the test prototype to the tests, we expect that we will find a very elegant SUV that has a more smooth and sports design resembling Land Rover Evoque.
Audi engineers intend to reduce the weight of the new Q7 by about 350 kg by using lighter materials during the production of the next generation of the MLB platform. The current generation is built on the Volkswagen PL71 platform, which also underlies Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg. However, despite the reduced mass, this is still a large SUV and for its transportation, you probably will have to order a container of 40 feet!
